Here’s what the Blockheads and the entertainment press made of it all.

What Blockheads Are Saying
The top thread on r/TheBlock today isn’t even about this season’s contestants. It’s a tribute to Keith, the beloved former site foreman, and the collective theory that he saw exactly where the show was heading and got out while he still could. One commenter reckons he was “the heart of the show” and it’s “gone flat without him,” which is either very sweet or very savage depending on how you feel about this year’s cast.
The best line in the thread, though, is the one doing the rounds for a reason: he apparently left just so no one could park in front of his trailer. Sixteen comments in and nobody’s disagreed with the theory that Keith clocked the vibe shift early and made a very wise decision. There’s also a genuine push in the comments for a “Behind The Block” podcast of Keith just watching episodes and reacting, which, frankly, we would listen to immediately.
What the Mastheads Ran Today
Executive producer Julian Cress went on the record with TV Tonight (also covered by Chattr) to shut down the swirl of rumours around the show, including the one about Marty Fox quietly angling to replace Scott Cam as host. Cress called it “ridiculous,” insisted Scott is “very happy doing the show,” and admitted with disarming honesty that “half of the stories that are published about The Block are made up,” before conceding that’s arguably a compliment to how much people care.
Meanwhile Chattr (also covered in TV Blackbox’s episode recap) rounded up the fan pile-on after Wyatt spent an episode complaining about being left “standing around” with nothing to do, following a prank that saw his insulation batts relocated by a mischievous neighbour. Reddit was not gentle about it, with one fan telling him to “build the damn room for the show you signed up for.”
And in the “you can’t unsee it” file, Chattr flagged an X-rated doodle that turned up in one team’s fireplace planning sketch mid-episode, spotted by eagle-eyed fans in one of the show’s Facebook groups faster than production could edit around it. Nine’s censors, we assume, are having a moment.
