  • The Block 2027: What We Know So Far

The Block 2026 has only just been confirmed for Mount Eliza, but searches for The Block 2027 are already ticking over. Here’s what we actually know so far, and what’s still just speculation, updated as news breaks.

    What’s confirmed

Nothing official yet. Channel Nine typically doesn’t confirm a new season’s location or cast until the current season is well underway, and sometimes not until the previous season’s auction has aired.

What history tells us to expect

Based on the pattern of the last several seasons, a few things are reasonably predictable even this early:

Season number: The Block 2027 would be Season 23.

Announcement timing: cast and location reveals have landed in late June to mid July in recent years (27 June 2024, 20 July 2023, 10 July 2025). Expect the first solid news around the same window in 2026.

Premiere timing: recent seasons have started in late July or early August, shortly after any Olympic or major sporting broadcast commitments on Channel Nine.

Location pattern: the last four seasons have alternated between regional and prestige coastal or metro locations (Phillip Island, Daylesford, Mount Eliza). Producers have publicly framed the Mount Eliza move as a response to the reserve price controversy at Daylesford, so a location with genuine $3 million-plus buyer demand is likely to remain the priority.

    What to watch for

Once The Block 2026 airs from 2 August, keep an eye on contestant interviews and reunion coverage for any hints about a 2027 return to filming, and on real estate industry reporting for early land purchase rumours, which is usually how location speculation starts each cycle.
