Tuesday night’s Main Bedroom Week episode did the thing Block episodes do best: it turned a renovation show into forty minutes of tennis in the rain, then still found room for a stern budget lecture. Here’s what r/TheBlock made of it, and what the mastheads had to say once the credits rolled.
What Blockheads Are Saying
“I forgot about these Mario Party style minigames.”

Wednesday’s live discussion thread on r/TheBlock racked up more than 300 comments in a couple of hours, and a solid chunk of them were dedicated to the sight of contestants playing tennis in the rain mid-build. One commenter summed up the mood: “I forgot about these Mario Party style minigames,” which about covers it. The rest of the thread had plenty to say about Courtney and Sev’s spending, treating their “accidentally overspent” line as pure theatre, right before the mastheads confirmed it was worse than that.
What the Mastheads Ran Today
TV Blackbox’s recap put real numbers on it: Courtney and Sev have now spent more than double their $30,000 budget for the first two rooms, earning a sit-down from foreman Dan and site manager Aidan warning them it can’t continue. The recap also covers Courtney’s attempt to stagger tradie lunch breaks (Dan wasn’t having it) and a round of reader comments demanding tighter budget penalties, including one call to “lock the account for the week” once a team goes over.
Over at WHO, the controversy of the day was interior design, not dollars. Mount Eliza locals pushed back on Darren Palmer’s “light, bright and white” brief, inspired by Kim Kardashian’s minimalist LA home, arguing it has little to do with what actually sells in their suburb. Courtney and Sev, once again in the thick of it, defended their contemporary coastal direction and said the finished house has already won over the neighbours.
Two houses, one recurring theme: everyone has opinions about Courtney and Sev’s choices, and Courtney and Sev are not backing down. See you tomorrow for round two.
