The Block 2026 Episode 29: What r/TheBlock Actually Thought

Kitchen Reveal night brought sponsor appliances galore, a body corporate meeting that went nowhere fast, and yet another Rick and Tayla saga that had half the thread ready to adopt him. r/TheBlock had a lot to unpack.

The “Fingerprint Proof” Oven Had Fingerprints On It

Sponsor claims met reality head on when the judges praised a supposedly smudge resistant oven that was, on screen, visibly covered in smudges. “It doesn’t get fingerprints, pans over fingerprints,” one commenter quoted, deadpan, and the thread ran with it for the rest of the night.

Rick and Tayla’s Body Corp Meeting Went Absolutely Nowhere

Tayla calling an emergency body corp over alleged cheating, instead of picking up a paintbrush to help her dad, tested the thread’s patience to its limit. “Instead of helping her dad with the painting we’re instead going to try and do a body corp to get more hours, wonderful,” read one exasperated comment, while another simply begged: “can Tayla just stop talking for like a minute.” Rick copped enormous sympathy throughout, with more than one fan admitting they wanted to reach through the screen and hand him a paint roller themselves.

Jolene’s Sportsmanship Only Runs One Way

Fans noticed the gap between Jolene celebrating her own team’s wins and her reaction to anyone else’s. “Everyone congratulated Adam and Jolene on their win, but when someone else wins, Jolene storms out. I do not like her at all,” read one popular comment, with plenty more agreeing they’d had enough of the double standard.

The Judges Read The Sponsor Script A Little Too Well

Between the appliance specs and brand names dropped mid critique, the judging felt more like an infomercial than a design review. “I can’t believe Darren just happened to know all that info about the appliances completely off the top of his head! What are the odds?” quipped one fan, with another summing up the whole episode as “just one 90 minute ad.”

That Powder Room Sink Broke The Thread

A bucket shaped vessel basin, jammed off centre, became the villain of the night. “Genuinely taking the piss with that bucket of a sink,” read one comment, while another compared it to “handmade clay cups that kids make for their parents.” Nobody could work out how anyone was meant to clean it, let alone enjoy looking at it.

The Verdict

Kitchen Reveal night left r/TheBlock more interested in Rick’s patience, Jolene’s selective grace and the sponsors getting more airtime than the contestants, with the actual kitchens almost beside the point. The body corp saga isn’t done yet either, so brace for round two.
