Guest suite week hits Waterproof Tuesday, and while one house is celebrating another clean sweep, another has just watched a wall of steel frame get run over by a Volvo. By the time the sun goes down, half the site is convinced someone’s been sneaking back in after hours, and by dinner it’s less a build site than a rumour mill with power tools.

Up in House 2, Chantel and Wyatt make good on their now-trademark “Waterproof Tuesday,” finishing their guest ensuite waterproofing well ahead of the rest of the pack, ready to lay floor and wall tiles the next day. It is, by their own admission, becoming a running joke on site, with Leonie reportedly telling them they’re “really smashing it” on her rounds, and Wyatt shrugging off the inevitable jealousy: “Everyone we have in here is really good at their jobs.” Next door, Lisa and Rosco are sticking to the traditional script, waterproofers booked for Wednesday morning and a standing “bathroom curse” they’re hoping this week finally breaks.
Lisa’s day gets considerably worse before it gets better. Reversing her car onsite, she manages to flatten a Truecore steel frame packer panel, and when the excuse doesn’t fly with site manager Gmac, she’s told in no uncertain terms she’ll be covering the cost of a replacement. It’s a rough start to a day that ends with her fielding accusations of a different kind entirely, more on that below. On the upside, she does get an offsite win, heading into Mount Eliza to finally lock in a real estate agent. After comparing boutique local outfit Coastal Agents against the bigger network at Buxton, last year’s winning agency for Britt and Taz, Lisa discovers Buxton has unexpectedly become available and signs them on the spot, on the strength of them calling House 3 “the crown jewel of the Block.”
Over in House 1, the money troubles keep compounding. Adam and Jolene’s waterproofing has stalled a full day behind schedule after a change of product forced a fresh trip to Beaumont’s, and when Jolene checks the CommBank app and discovers the bill came to $2,500, the reaction is immediate: “Please, tell me, please… are you (bleep) joking?” With trade payments looming next week, it’s the second budget blow-up in as many episodes for House 1, and Adam’s now-familiar defence, that the spend was unavoidable, is wearing thin. Elsewhere, Freedom wardrobes start going in across the site, and last season’s Blockheads Ben and Emma, now the owners of this year’s Sharehouse, drop by with a round of Macca’s and a cheeky “what budget?” for anyone still standing.
The real story of the day, though, breaks after hours. House 5’s Spence and Tayla, watching the Cursio brothers finish waterproofing and begin tiling with suspicious speed, decide the numbers don’t add up and confront them directly, convinced the brothers snuck back onsite after the 8pm cut-off to squeeze in an illegal second coat. The Cursios produce a timestamped video of themselves walking out the gate at 8:02pm, which settles nothing. By evening, the rumour, gleefully rebranded “the Cursio saga” via Courtney’s self-styled Gossip Lounge, has reached every house on the street, with Lisa cornering one of the brothers for a direct answer and getting a flat denial. Nobody has proof either way, but on The Block, that’s never once stopped a good scandal from running the full length of the site.
