The Block 2026 Episode 14: What r/TheBlock Actually Thought

Ensuite week kicked off with Darren doing a full about face on his own design brief, a genuine health scare for Courtney, and a love seat sized shower that had the thread asking exactly who it’s built for.

Darren reversed his own brief mid season

Three weeks after pushing teams toward white, bright and minimal, Darren showed up with a slideshow insisting the houses now need more colour and personality. The thread was not letting him off easily.

Guys I know I said make it boring, but now it’s too boring.

Courtney’s SVT scare cut through the noise

Courtney had a genuine medical episode on site, and while fans were glad it resolved safely, plenty questioned why a paramedic contestant was the first port of call instead of an on site medic.

Shouldn’t we have on site medical instead of calling another contestant?

The girls are somehow still blowing the budget

Courtney and Sev overspent by another $30,000 this week, and the thread is bracing for what happens when the next room needs to visually match a bathroom that alone cost $60,000.

A shower built for a small dinner party

An oversized ensuite bench seat, dubbed a love seat by fans, drew plenty of jokes about exactly how many people it was designed to fit.

It’s clearly designed so you and your platonic friends can all share a shower and discuss local politics. Platonically.

A flashback to 2012 stirred up genuine nostalgia

A throwback clip from an earlier season sent the thread into a wave of nostalgia for lower scores, a proper theme song and noticeably less product placement.

The verdict

Fourteen episodes in, and the season’s biggest twist so far might just be Darren contradicting his own advice on camera. Add a real scare, another budget blowout and a shower built for a crowd, and the thread’s patience is stretched but not quite broken yet.

Back tomorrow to see if anyone actually finishes an ensuite.
