Main Bedroom and WIR week arrived, but the thread barely noticed the renovating over the sound of one contestant’s tooth. Between a toothache saga, a shopping centre dinner and a baby announcement, this was less a build episode than a group therapy session.
Wyatt’s tooth ran the whole episode
A cracked tooth kept Wyatt off the tools for most of the night, though he still found the energy for a gym session, a meal and a Chemist Warehouse run for whitening strips and a waterpik. The thread was not moved.
I’ve got a cracked tooth, so I’m gonna go eat and work out.

We’ve literally spent more time hearing about his toothache than we have seen construction.

The reward dinner was basically an ad break
This week’s reward saw the winning team dining inside a shopping centre, complete with a chef cooking out of a shopfront. Fans were unimpressed with the downgrade from previous weeks’ rewards, and even less impressed with how openly commercial the whole segment felt.
Nothing says Scotty doesn’t give a stuff anymore like a reward dinner in a shopping mall.

The AI music is still not landing
The show’s AI-generated score copped another round of complaints this week, with the thread’s patience for it wearing thinner by the episode.
Shut the whole thing up with that disgusting AI music.

Nobody actually saw any building
Between the tooth drama, the sponsor segments and a baby reveal, actual renovation footage was in short supply. Fans reckoned the whole episode added up to about ten minutes of real work, with the rest given over to filler.
A surprise pregnancy announcement
A team’s baby news landed midway through the episode, and the thread was split on whether it felt organic or stage-managed for the cameras, joking it’s shaping up as an annual Block tradition.
The verdict
Ten episodes in, and the thread’s patience is thinner than ever: a toothache got more screen time than the reno, the ad load keeps climbing, and the AI score is still not winning anyone over. A few regulars floated tapping out entirely. Whether next week brings back the actual building remains to be seen.
See you back here when the drills come out again.
