  • The Block 2026 Premiere Date Confirmed: Sunday 2 August (And There’s a Huge Twist)

Mark your calendars, Blockheads. Channel Nine has released the first full trailer for The Block 2026, and it confirms the news fans have been waiting for: the new season premieres on Sunday 2 August 2026 on Nine and 9Now.

The trailer, released on Thursday 9 July, gives us our first proper look at the Mount Eliza season, and it delivers two bombshells alongside the premiere date.

Twist one: all five teams live under one roof

For the first time in the show’s 22-season history, all five teams will live together in a single shared house for the entire build. That replaces the usual arrangement of tents, caravans and makeshift quarters on site.

“We’re in a shared house here,” one visibly shocked contestant says in the clip.

Five stressed couples, twelve weeks of renovating, one living room. If producers were looking for a way to guarantee drama after last year’s season, this is it. Expect comparisons to Big Brother all season long.

    Twist two: water views, finally

“22 seasons of The Block, and we’ve never had a water view before,” Scott Cam announces in the promo, confirming what aerial photos have suggested for months: the Mount Eliza site overlooks Port Phillip Bay, a first for the show.

“We’ve got a great block with views straight over the bay. It’s going to be fantastic. Great little town, and we’re really excited to get there,” Scotty said of the location.

Nine says the teams will be challenged to add luxury resort-style living to five family-sized homes on the Old Mornington Road development site, all designed around those water views.

    Everything confirmed so far

The auction finale is expected in late October or November, and this year it comes with an added wrinkle: Victoria’s new reserve price disclosure laws commence in October 2026.
